Towards Kobe 17th April
Towards Kobe 17th April
Another sea day – which we didn’t mind, after a
busy day yesterday. We’re only going about 11 knots while our cruising speed is
about 21 knots. I suspect that if they wouldn’t arrive somewhere until the
afternoon then it isn’t worth it to the company, and they go slowly to arrive
the following morning.
A fairly standard morning – sat in a lunge and
read, went to the morning quiz and got an average score. When we were in port
yesterday I looked at a quiz training site; it had lots of lists, like US
presidents and members of the G7 and G8 etc, all of which would be boring to
learn. We went back to the cabin for a while, sitting on the balcony because it
was a fine and mild day.
Then to a talk on our next stops, Kobe and
Kochi. The woman talking manages to fill a lot of space without imparting much
information. It’s unclear why she insists on describing tours which are fully
booked, particularly when her descriptions aren’t useful. I also don’t
understand why the tours are booked out when I think they’re a major earner for
the company.
We had a light lunch (for once) then went to a
dance class – the waltz, which I assume is the easiest. After that we went back
to our cabin to read and so Lynn could treat her injuries. In the evening we did what we usually do - went to dinner, then a show, then a quiz before turning in.
